If a contractor needs to open a wall or ceiling in my home do I need testing done?
Yes, depending on the year the home was built, it may need Lead and/or Asbestos testing.
What year was Lead banned in Residential homes ?
Lead based paints were banned for residential use in 1978.
Do I need to have an asbestos survey prior to any demolition or renovation ?
Yes. An asbestos survey report signed by an asbestos consultant is required prior to any demolition or renovation. See Rule 1403(d)(1)(A).
